Using a DDL-v1 Dataset¶
Typical scenarios¶
Academic paper using a DDL-v1 dataset. Cite the dataset title,
Datacustodia Dataset License Version 1 (DDL-v1), and a link to the source. Add an “Adapted from” notice if you modified the data. Compliant.Open-source project bundling a DDL-v1 dataset. Ship the dataset with the verbatim license text and a
NOTICE/LICENSEfile pointing to the source repository. Compliant.Company training a commercial model on a DDL-v1 dataset. Not covered by the open grant — contact the Licensor for a commercial license before any use. Non-compliant otherwise.
Attribution format¶
Where practicable, include:
the Licensor’s name,
the title of the Licensed Material,
the version label
DDL-v1,a URI to the source, and
a clear “Adapted from” marker if you changed anything.

Compliance checklist¶
Before publicly releasing anything that includes DDL-v1 material:
[ ] Attribution names the Licensor, the dataset title and
DDL-v1.[ ] A source URI is given where reasonably practicable.
[ ] Adapted Material is clearly marked as modified.
[ ] The use is Non-Commercial (or a separate commercial license is in place).
[ ] The verbatim text of
licenses/License.txtships with the redistribution.
